Winter is the trickiest season of the year. It makes taking care of your skin a complete nightmare! This winter, my skin has undergone a drastic change. It went from combination skin, which is normal around the perimeter of the face and oily in the center, to dry skin – instantly. I’ve been trying EVERYTHING to keep my skin moisturized and hydrated throughout the winter. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is drinking more water. Without a doubt, drinking more water is essential at this time. But now… how do we attend to the skin? Let’s take a look.
Son & Park’s Beauty Water is sold at Sephora.com and Sokoglam.com. It is said to be a multitasking toner and cleaner that mildly exfoliates dead skin cells for brighter skin and smooth texture. I like to use this product after I shower to make sure all the dirt and oil is completely gone. I also use this before I apply makeup.
Borghese’s Crema Saponetta Cleansing Creme is sold at borghese.com. It can also be found at other online stores such as dermastore and amazon. Borghese describes this cleansing creme as a gentle, water-activated, lathering cleanser that quickly dissolves surface debris and brings skin to a balanced state. Leaves skin feeling healthy, refreshed and renewed. I can personally say that this cleanser is very hydrating. As it lathers you can tell that it is cleansing without tearing the skin. AND you only need a small amount for a total cleanse.
Neutrogena’s Hydro-Boost hydrogel mask is sold at drugstores. I purchased it at my local Walmart. I use this mask whenever my skin feels itchy and super dry. It says that it quenches dry skin leaving it hydrated, smooth, and supple. I like to use this mask before going out or applying makeup. The mask helps me ensure that whatever I’m placing on my face doesn’t look cakey or patchy throughout the application. Making sure that I treat the skin before just throwing stuff on top of it to hide it.
Borghese’s Fango Delicato is another mask I absolutely love. I first encountered this mask was when I was shopping at TJMaxx. The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging, the second was that it could be used on face and body. It is a mud mask used to treat dry skin. It cleanses, detoxifies, and refreshes the skin. You apply this mask generously to the whole body. I think the best time to use this mask is during a bath.
Serums are the most important factors in skin care. Typically, serums are the purest things, closest to water, that can truly penetrate the skin. The one serum that I have been trying this winter is Borghese’s Aqua Ristorativo Serum. It is simply a hydrating serum that locks in moisture on the skin. Now, I can’t speak too if it has done its job or made any changes towards my skin or makeup application overall – seeing that I just started using it – but I can say that my moisturizers seem to last longer and that my skin looks and feels healthier.
Embryolisse’s Lait-Creme Concentre has been my winter lifesaver!! This product is sold at embryolisseusa.com. But can also be found at other online stores listed above. On the website, it is described as a 24-Hour Miracle Cream. It is a creamy lotion that can be used ad primer, moisturizer, and make-up remover. They say that it restores the skin’s natural glow and helps dehydrated skin. With this product, a little goes a long way. I wear this moisturizer alone and with makeup. It a definitely a must-have for the winter. In fact, if you could only purchase one product with this post – it would be this.

Special thank you to Borghese for sending me their skincare regimen line to try out! It has completely transformed my skin in a matter of a few weeks. Their products are unique and make your skin feel super soft. I recommend this brand to anyone who doesn’t mind splurging on skincare.
