Foundations for Brownies

For me, finding the perfect foundation can be the hardest task ever.

In fact, at times, it can even give me anxiety. But over the summer , I’ve found some foundations that fit me rather well.

These foundations work well with my overly sensitive, acne prone, and oily-combination type skin.

Maybe (just maybe!) it will work well for

you too!

Today I am going to share five foundations, some being high end and the other being drug store.

For the summer, I have been loving: Sephora‘s Perfection mist airbrush foundation, Maybelline‘s BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balms, Clinique’s Stay-Matte and also Maybelline‘s SuperStay Better Skin.

The airbrush foundation gives me a natural flawless appearance! However this can go from 100 to zero real quick due to how much you apply to the face. It is great for summer because it is amazingly light! Its is a great product and really serves its purpose.

The BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balms were one of my favorites for the summer, it gave your skin a nice satin glow to it (trying my best to describe how it looks on my skin lol!) The BB is a sheer coverage with a natural finish. This product became even better when they added the Skin Clearing Perfecter into their collection.

The SuperStay Better Skin is SOO awesome for everyday natural look. It has SPF and vitamins for the skin. I wore it  to work, lunch dates, and for daytime outings with friends. Everytime I wore it, I got compliments on my skin.

And for days where I find myself wanting a more fuller coverage, I would pick either my Maybelline‘s Dream Velvet or Clinique‘s Stay-Matte. Both beautiful and feel wonderful on the skin. For an everyday glam, I use the dream velvet.

Clinique‘s Stay-Matte is the best full coverage foundation for my acne prone skin. After applying this foundation I never break out and my skin looks absolutely flawless. However, Clinique doesn’t have a wide range of colors for this product. It is very limited to undertones and may appear lighter (or ashy) on skin.

Maybelline‘s Dream Velvet is my ALL TIME, it is lightweight and has full coverage. I love the shade range of this product, with the addition that it works well with any powder product I have put over it.

Welp, I have shared with you my top foundations for the summer. I hope you enjoyed your first read and look forward to reading more as they come.

  1. This post is awesome!

It’s so hard trying to find foundations for women of color! Especially ones that have the right undertone. Great post! I’m proud of you!!! Can’t wait to read more.

    • Slowly leaning into doing tutorials! I will definitely get to it as soon as I can, thank you so much for the love!

  2. We literally have the same skin type except I don’t get oily. I’m always struggling with foundations because even though my skin is brown I have a yellow undertone and most brown foundations are too warm and make me look red or orange. Love this peice & the photo!!

    • Girl I find I am the same! I have a red undertone around my face, but my highlights are yellow. So i realized I need a red foundation with yellow concealer!.Thank you so much girl!

  3. I think I want to try Maybelline Dream & the Clinique. My quick store run about to turn into a haul. Thanks Brownie <3
