Unsurprisingly enough, I always get asked “What is the best concealer to use on dark skin?” And Honestly sis… it depends on what look you are trying to achieve. Since I work in an education firm, it’s more than likely that I won’t be wearing makeup. However if I do choose to, it would be learning towards flawless natural look. And on other days I would typically go for a flawless GLAM SLAM SMACK DOWN. So, I created a list of concealers that I love and live by on a everyday basis.
Concealers for Brownies
MAC’s ProLong Concealer (Full)
This concealer is my all time FAVORITE. It is a lightweight, smooth, flawless, and matte concealer that I personally use to clean up my eyebrows and highlight my under-eye area. It does a great job covering dark spots and skin discoloration as well. The color I wear is NW40, this color is very much lighter than my skin tone and I use it for highlighting.
Too Faced’s Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer (Medium)
This concealer is the BEST THING I HAVE EVER TRIED, so far this year, lol. I received this full-size product for free when I attended IPSY’s Generation Beauty, and I have to tell you… This has blessed my entire existence. The coverage of this concealer is medium, however you can build it to full with powder. Powder adds coverage so beautifully on top of this concealer. It doesn’t crease, and stays on all day. My only realization is that this concealer does not cover under-eye bags well. So if you have bags, I would try other techniques to minimize that appearance.
MAC’s Studio Conceal & Correct Palette (Full)
MAC’s Studio Conceal and Correct Palette is the perfect palette for travel. I find that it has beautiful correction colors and the coverage is awesomesauce. It comes with 6 colors (two correction, and the others highlight, neutral, and contour.) I would typically use this product for different areas of the face (such as eyebrows, under eye, and even blemishes) but this is perfect because it can accommodate for it. A cheaper alternative for this palette is NYX’s Conceal, Correct, and Contour Palette. NYX palettes comes in 3 colors and features almost every shade. Only downside about this palette is that the colors appear “ashy” on the skin.
Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer (Light/Medium)
This concealer would be my cheaper alternative for my MAC Prolong wear. The cost of this concealer is literally half the price of Mac’s. The coverage is medium and with very minimal it can be light. It is truly great for the under-eye on a everyday basis. My only thing about this concealer is that it isn’t as bright for highlighting (if your going for the GLAM SMACK DOWN), It is more of a neutral concealer.
Any concealer (drug store or high end) that you tried, please comment below and tell me how you like it? Is it something you’ll buy again or nah?
This is a topic which is close to my heart… Best wishes! Exactly where are your contact details though?
Pretty! This has been an incredibly wonderful post. Many thanks for providing these details.
